Designer, Illustrator, Typographer. Also Known As Steven Bonner

I came across Steven Bonner work and it's totally worth having a look at it. Just awesome.

Read what he says about his work:

During my time in the creative industries I've worn a lot of hats, but those are the names I've felt most comfortable with. Whether I'm sole designer or directing, what I do can be broken down using one or more of those titles.

I have a conceptual approach to everything I do born from a love of bold and memorable images. I started freelancing under the name Also Known As in January 2009 and it's worked out pretty well so far, working on overflow & pitch projects for design agencies across the UK as well as for private clients worldwide. Every project is an opportunity to do the best work I've ever done.

My work has been featured across the web, in print, and in books such as Custom Kicks, 1001 Restaurant Bar & Café Graphics, Vormator: Elements of Design, and Black & White Freedrawings."

As an illustrator he is represented by NB Illustration in London.

Power To The Poster

Designed as a part of the Power To The Poster project held to raise awareness to issues that poster makers are passionate about. Instead of blood for oil, immigration, or healthcare, I chose to try and create something that deals with interpersonal awareness. Want to give or get some kindness? Tear off a tab and make it happen.

A Poster with an alterable Structure

PIXEL IT. A poster with an alterable structure to display messages - a visually professional and attention grabbing alternative to messy blackboard writings.“Pixel It” consists of two layers of paper. Cuts on the white outer layer allow the user to fold parts out and therefore create a "Pixel-Structure" by showing the coloured layer underneath.

Freshness Label

Design studio TO-GENKYO proposes a new method of tracking a foods expiration date by using a universally recognizable visual. Over the last year or so Japan had been struck by a number of scandals involving food companies tampering with expiration dates. The new design keeps people honest by changing colors based on the level of ammonia the food emits as it ages. After it has passed its expiration date the barcode is no longer readable, making it impossible to sell.

Nothing is Original

Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination.
Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic.
Authenticity is invaluable; originality is not-existent.
And don't bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always reme, ber what Jean-Luc Godard said: "It's not where you take things from - It's where you take them to."

The beauty of religious Imagery

Shiva, meaning “Auspicious one”, also known as Rudra (the “Feared One”) is a major Hindu god and one aspect of Trimurti. In the Shaiva tradition of Hinduism, Shiva is seen as the Supreme God. In the Smarta tradition, he is one of the five primary forms of God.

Shiva is usually worshipped in the form of Shiva linga. In images, he is generally represented as immersed in deep meditation or dancing the Tandava upon Maya, the demon of ignorance in his manifestation of Nataraja, the lord of the dance.

Lakshmi
is the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity, light, wisdom, fortune, fertility, generosity and courage; and the embodiment of beauty, grace and charm. Representations of Lakshmi (or Shri) are found also in Jain monuments.

She is believed to protect her devotees from all kinds of misery and money-related sorrows.

Ganesha, also spelled Ganesa or Ganesh and also known as Ganapati, Vinayaka, and Pillaiyar, is one of the best-known and most widely worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon.[5] His image is found throughout India.[6] Hindu sects worship him regardless of affiliations.[7] Devotion to Ganesha is widely diffused and extends to Jains, Buddhists, and beyond India.[8]

Although he is known by many other attributes, Ganesha's elephant head makes him easy to identify.Ganesha is widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles and more generally as Lord of Beginnings and Lord of Obstacles (Vighnesha, Vighneshvara) patron of arts and sciences, and the deva of intellect and wisdom. He is honoured at the beginning of rituals and ceremonies and invoked as Patron of Letters during writing sessions. Several texts relate mythological anecdotes associated with his birth and exploits and explain his distinct iconography.

Homeless people holding signs are a part of the fabric of daily life

"These signs, some of the most basic forms of graphic communication in our society today, combined with O’Brien’s unblinking black-and-white portraits, are a reminder that with a little bad luck we could easily find ourselves in similar straits—and that at times we can all use a helping hand. We encourage you to join us in supporting the charities we list here or a local one of your choice."
